Rep. Correa Demands Defense Department Better Protect Taxpayer Dollars

Washington, DC—Congressman Lou Correa, released the following statement about a recent internal audit report, detailing that the Department of Defense cannot account for hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of spending.

“I’m calling on the Department of Defense to be better stewards of taxpayers’ money. I was appalled to learn that the DoD could not account for millions of dollars. We trust them with taxpayer dollars, expecting that every dollar will be used to protect Americans. I came to Washington to defend my taxpayers against waste, fraud, and abuse. If the Defense Department wants billions more in taxpayer money, they must do a better job spending the money they have.”
